Over the last few decades, radio fire systems have dramatically increased in reliability whilst reducing in both size and price. Todays’ systems, from Electro Detectors, boast a long battery life and are as reliable as hardwired systems.

Not only are these systems installed in historic buildings, where wires can not be run, but also in a whole host of other premises, including buildings where disruption is a nuisance, temporary projects, and systems that need to be installed in a hurry, whilst still remaining competitive.

Radio fire detection first became available in the mid 1980’s. At that time there were many National Trust and English Heritage properties, as well as privately owned dwellings, that were desperately seeking an alternative to hardwired systems with all of the complications and disruption that such a system would bring.
